Plenty of homelabs watch subreddits like r/selfhosted or r/homelab through FreshRSS, Miniflux, Inoreader, n8n or a Home Assistant feed sensor. That stops working soon.

What to switch to

  1. Follow the project directly. GitHub has an Atom feed for every repo’s releases: https://github.com/<owner>/<repo>/releases.atom. That’s more reliable than a subreddit for update news.
  2. Follow the publishers. Many subreddits mostly link out to sites that have their own feeds. FeedsBar checked 25 big subreddits and published replacement feeds and OPML files (feeds.bar).
  3. Self-hosted bridges such as RSSHub or RSS-Bridge can still generate feeds, but they depend on Reddit’s pages and may break or get rate-limited. Treat them as best-effort.
  4. Newsletters and fediverse. Self-Host Weekly covers r/selfhosted-type news, and Lemmy communities and Mastodon hashtags still publish RSS.
  5. Moderators: set up Discord Relay before November 13.
