Not without preparation. Major release with breaking changes: new database, statistics history wiped, USG and the self-hosted Network Application Server dropped, and forced Zone-Based Firewall migration. Not yet offered on Ubiquiti's stable update channel (fw-update.ubnt.com) as of 2026-10-21, so treat it as an early or gradual rollout. Download a backup first.
⚠️ What breaks
The release notes flag breaking or backward-incompatible changes. Something in your setup may stop working until you change config. Read the items below and the full notes before upgrading.
From the release notes
- Migrated the application database to PostgreSQL. Existing statistics history is cleared and starts fresh after the update.
- Removed USG gateway support (Network Application 10.6 is the last version supporting USG).
- Removed Network Application Server support. Upgrade to UniFi OS Server, the official replacement.
- All sites are automatically migrated to the Zone-Based Firewall. Requires UniFi OS 6.0 or newer; the upgrade may take up to 20 minutes.
✅ What to do first
- Read the official release notes (linked in “What breaks”).
- Back up config and data (snapshot the VM/volume if you can).
- Note the version you are on now, so you can roll back.
- Update, then check logs and core functions before walking away.
↩️ How to roll back to 10.6.106
Before updating: Settings → System → Backups → Download a backup (.unf), and enable scheduled cloud/auto backups. UniFi consoles have no one-click downgrade: to roll back, install the previous Network version (self-hosted: the 10.6.106 package; on UniFi OS: Settings → Control Plane → Updates/Applications, or SSH with a compatible package) and restore the .unf from before the update. Backups from a newer version can’t be restored into an older one, so the pre-update backup is the one that matters. Major 11.x moves to a new database, so keep the 10.x backup.
