Yes, with care. New 10.6 feature release with several new subsystems and a staged rollout. No breaking changes flagged, but it's a bigger change than a patch. Back up first.
⚠️ What breaks
Nothing explicitly breaking is flagged, but the notes mention migrations, deprecations or larger changes. Most setups upgrade fine. Back up first and update when you have time to check.
From the release notes
- New minor line (10.6): Drift Inspector, Topology Spotlight, expanded Safe Ops (Test & Confirm for VPN and Management networks).
- Gradual rollout notice: the update is staged and may not appear for everyone at once.
✅ What to do first
- Read the official release notes (linked in “What breaks”).
- Back up config and data (snapshot the VM/volume if you can).
- Note the version you are on now, so you can roll back.
- Update, then check logs and core functions before walking away.
↩️ How to roll back to 10.5.67
Before updating: Settings → System → Backups → Download a backup (.unf), and enable scheduled cloud/auto backups. UniFi consoles have no one-click downgrade: to roll back, install the previous Network version (self-hosted: the 10.5.67 package; on UniFi OS: Settings → Control Plane → Updates/Applications, or SSH with a compatible package) and restore the .unf from before the update. Backups from a newer version can’t be restored into an older one, so the pre-update backup is the one that matters. Major 11.x moves to a new database, so keep the 10.x backup.
